Sopore, June 18 (KNO): SRM Welkin Higher Secondary School Sopore in north Kashmir on Thursday unveiled its official logo and held an investiture ceremony, attended by legislators, civil administration officials, police officers, parents and students.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the event featured colourful cultural performances by students, reflecting its commitment to nurturing talent alongside academic excellence.
MLA Sopore, Irshad Rasool Kar, who attended the ceremony as chief guest, appreciated the talent displayed by students and announced that he would take up the demand for a dedicated cultural hall in Sopore with the government.
He said the youth possess immense potential and require proper infrastructure to showcase their abilities.
MLA Wagoora-Kreeri, Irfan Hafiz Lone described the institution's achievements as a matter of pride for the Kashmir Valley. He urged society to preserve and promote the mother tongue alongside academic and extracurricular pursuits.
Alongside Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, S.A. Raina, SSP Sopore Iftkhar Talib credited the institution's management for its steady progress and contribution to the educational landscape of the region.
SSP Talib reiterated the police department's commitment to engaging youth through sports, cultural and community outreach programmes.
The ceremony concluded with Vice Chairperson Baseema Aijaz presenting a vote of thanks. She expressed gratitude to the guests, parents and students for their support and highlighted the institution's continued growth through collective effort, dedication and public trust— (KNO)
